Norwegian Rock ’n’ Roll team The Cocktail Slippers have released new single “Joyride“ via Wicked Cool Records. The track also serves as the title song from the band’s forthcoming album, Joyride.
“Joyride” captures the spirit of life on the road and was inspired by classic ’70s Rock road songs, celebrating the “thrill, camaraderie, and chaos of touring.”
The band’s Stine Bendiksen says:
Joyride is, not unlike songs such as ‘Highway to Hell’ by AC/DC, ‘We’re an American Band’ by Grand Funk Railroad and ‘Highway Star’ by Deep Purple, a feel-good on the road song with strong preferences in the 70s rock sound. Joyride is a sing-a-long tune about life on the road, internal band humor, endless highways and singing in the backseat.
Formed in Oslo, The Cocktail Slippers are a five-piece all-female Rock ’n’ Roll band known for blending ’60s girl-group harmonies, Garage-Rock grit, and Punk energy. Across five studio albums and many international tours, they’ve shared their music worldwide.

The band are now finishing work on their sixth studio album.
Stine Bendiksen continues:
We could never be in this just for the money. This is a lifestyle, and you need to look at even the most tiering roadtrips and tours as an adventure.
Making music, playing live, touring and meeting people is what keeps us going. Its easy to focus on everything that is hard and makes you tired and facts like we can’t afford fancy hotels with single rooms. But at the end of the day, if you can’t turn it around to a positive thing – why bother doing this? We chose to make every single concert, tour and roadtrip a joyride.
