Genre-blending Denver, Colorado band Banshee Tree has released the title track from their forthcoming independent album, Bad Luck. The new collection is set for release on April 17th, 2026, via Banshee Tree Records.

“Bad Luck” brings in Flamenco accents and “captures a restless inner monologue about self-doubt and taking chances, while maintaining the hope of outrunning a streak of misfortune.” The narrator “believes that if he can finally shake the cloud hanging over him, he might start moving forward life with clear, unhindered purpose.”

Lead singer and guitarist Thom LaFond says:

’Bad Luck’ is a musical playground. The drums and bass keep an almost salsa feel, while the vocals and saxophone glide over the cracks in the ethereal harmony. There’s a feeling of rhythmic forwardness that contrasts all the ambient layers. Lyrically the theme is bad luck, and what you do with it. Do you shake it off, or do you curl into a ball? It all can be part of a path forward.

Bad Luck is the quartet’s sophomore album, featuring eight songs that blur boundaries between Indie Rock, Jazz, Roots and Psychedelic Pop.

Lyrically and thematically, Bad Luck “explores the relationship between humans and the natural world, tracing moments of tension, beauty, and even warning.” Throughout the album, there is a “recurring sense of choice and transformation, examining how moments that feel ominous or uncertain can become gateways to growth.”

Banshee Tree is Thom LaFond (lead vocals/guitar), Michelle Pietrafitta (drums/vocals), Jesse Shantor (keyboards/saxophone) and Jason Bertone (bass).
