Brighton, UK-based trio Plantoid have released their new album, Flare, via Bella Union. The band has released preview singles “Dozer” and “Good For You” and “Ultivatum Cultivation”, but now have also shared a live performance video for album opener “Parasite” recorded live at Farm Road Studios in Brighton.
Chloe Spence’s vocal explores the idea of “depression and anxiety feeling like an unwelcoming passenger or parasite inside your head, whispering, twisting and feeding off your energy”.
Staying true to their math-Rock roots, Plantoid’s album is Heavy, has tempo changes, and dizzying chord progressions.
With the help of producer/sometimes live member Nathan Ridley, who has helped the band craft their sonic identity since debut album Terrapath, they’ve “sought to indulge their groovier side.”
Chloe says:
We wanted to sit in the music for a while, make a mood out of it rather than changing it up so quickly. We wanted to develop ideas to their fullest extent.

Plantoid have a dedication to the expansion of their craft and will be putting that on display on their 2026 UK tour.
