Swedish Indie Folk duo Orange Oak have signed to Nettwerk and have shared their debut single,“garden green eyes.” Its timeless sound is built on “harmonies, acoustic instrumentation, and emotional storytelling.
Comprised of Filippa Frisell and Erik Olsson, Orange Oak have built their following online. Their music reflects the meaning embedded in their name: “Orange symbolizing hope and new beginnings, Oak representing patience and stability.”
Erik Olsson explains:
Orange is the color of the sunrise, a fresh start. Oak is stable and rooted, growing slowly but surely. That’s how we want to view the future—hopeful and grounded.
“garden green eyes” is a song that allows the duo to “explore inherited trauma and emotional lineage.”

Olsson says about the song:
We were talking about how we inherit more than just objects from past generations. Trauma gets passed down too, and the song reflects how deeply those roots can run.
Filippa Frisell adds:
Identifying inherited pain is one thing—breaking the pattern is much harder. We often turn a blind eye to what we could actually do about it.
Filippa Frisell began touring as a teenager after co-founding a Country-Pop duo signed to a major label, and later closed that chapter and shifted her focus to songwriting studies in Australia and Sweden.
Erik Olsson, known from a young age as “the guitar guy,” pursued songwriting professionally in Stockholm before enrolling in a music production and songwriting school in Sweden, where he serendipitously crossed paths with Filippa.
Orange Oak first connected with fans on TikTok through English reinterpretations of Swedish songs. Their shared love for “organic and simple songs” eventually brought them to Nashville, where Orange Oak took shape as a project.
Orange Oak will release a series of singles throughout 2026, leading into their debut EP for Nettwerk Music Group.
