Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé has shared new single + visualizer “The River” from her upcoming album, My World Is The Sun, to be released February 20, 2026 via Ensoul Records.
In the new song, the artist “finds communion with the movement of water”, singing from the perspective of a person asking nature for guidance.
Dominique Fils-Aimé is known for her socially engaged writing. She explores Jazz, Soul, and Blues, as well as African-American music and contemporary style. She crafts her work in cycles, with each trilogy telling a unique chapter.

Her first album trilogy, Nameless (2018), was inspired by artists such as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Etta James, and shed light on different chapters of this musical history. Her sophomore album, Stay Tuned! (2019), was a call for revolution. In 2021, she concluded her trilogy with Three Little Words (2021), an album focused on reconciliation.
In 2023, Fils-Aimé launched her second trilogy, which began with Our Roots Run Deep (2023), which is a “dreamlike narrative on the theme of growth” where nature plays a central role.
In February 2026, Dominique will unveil the second chapter of this cycle with a new studio album My World Is The Sun. On this project, she “focuses on the very essence of the creative process.”
