Abronia’s “Gemini” Emerges From Despair And Looks For A Way Out Together

Portland-based band Abronia have released new single “Gemini,” from their upcoming LP Shapes Unravel, out February 20th, 2026, via Cardinal Fuzz & Feeding Tube Records.

Vocalist/sax player Keelin Mayer says:

I was originally inspired by the would-be dictator’s astrological sign, and the way he’s destroying the country. I was also thinking about the duality that the astrological sign Gemini represents and the ecological collapse we are currently witnessing. Towards the conclusion of the track we emerge from despair and band together to look for a way out.

The track features the first-time addition of strings and flute, a new exploration for Abronia that is found on their upcoming LP. They have some live dates coming up in Oregon and Washington, too.

Abronia is a band who has embraced many sonic explorations in their more than ten years of existence, including Psychedelic, Post-Punk, and Acid Folk. Shapes Unravel is the six-piece band’s “most ambitious and compositionally daring” record to date, using both weight and stillness.
