Yorkshire, UK duo Seafret have announced their fourth studio album, Fear of Emotion, set for release on March 27th via Nettwerk, alongside the release of new single “Signal Fire.”
The new song features banjo and is “about seeking solace and connection in the midst of inner turmoil.” It was written “with a universal message of hope at its core.”
The band explains:
‘Signal Fire’ was written as a reminder that help exists and you never have to face the darkness on your own. The story in the verses centres on a relationship, but we wanted the chorus to be more universal and reach beyond that.
The single offers a first glimpse into the album Fear of Emotion, which was written and recorded across 2025, and Produced by long-time collaborators Steve Robson and Sam Miller.
The duo reflects:
The songs on ‘Fear of Emotion’ grew out of everything we’ve lived through these past few years — the bright, beautiful moments and the shadows that came with them. We didn’t want a single track that didn’t feel honest or rooted in something real, and we think we’ve captured that. Making this record has been a joy from start to finish. The collaborations have added a magic we couldn’t have created alone.

Collaboration plays a key role throughout the new record, with KT Tunstall lending her voice to “Five More Seconds”, James Morrison joining on the “end of the world” ballad “Driftwood”, and Katie Gregson-MacLeod adding to “Nobody Sees Us.”
