Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist and Psych-Rock artist Liam Colbert, better known as Rise Carmine, has released his new EP, Come in Closer, via Paper Bag Records. Singles from the EP have included “Soul Alive,” “Come in Closer,” and “Hooked”.
Now, he has also released the song “Second Love.” In it, Rise Carmine’s fusion of Rock and Psychedelia come together and culminate in a psychedelic jam.
Colbert shares about the new EP:
This EP invites people to lean in and listen and participate and show up in their community. The EP cover is a photo that was taken at the Toronto institution that is The Monarch Tavern, and it was the first show that we played after the world started to open back up after Covid. I remember feeling an uncontrollable electricity surging through me while we were playing because I was just so happy to be back up on a stage after so long and to have everyone back in a room together. I hope the EP release show evokes that feeling and more.

Rooted in the sounds of early ’90s Psych and Alt-Rock, Colbert’s music pays homage to previous generations while pushing their boundaries. His goals are the “haunting” and “immersive.”
