Hear Ken Pomeroy’s “Bound To Rain (Live)” As She Performs It On Screen In ‘The Lowdown’

Oklahoma-raised singer/songwriter Ken Pomeroy has shared her new single “Bound to Rain (Live)”, a stripped-down performance that coincides with her debut television acting role on FX’s The Lowdown. In the series, Pomeroy portrays Pearl Washberg and is part of an ensemble cast that includes Ethan Hawke, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson and Kyle MacLachlan.

Pomeroy performs, “Bound to Rain” in scene which series creator/producer Sterlin Harjo (Reservation Dogs) specifically built into the script for Pomeroy. “Bound to Rain” combines “dark humor and quiet resignation”.

Pomeroy reflects:

I wanted the performance to feel as vulnerable as the character herself. It’s about letting the song exist in that fragile, exposed space.

Pomeroy will also be making her CBS Saturday Morning debut October 18th. Joining her will be her musical partner Dakota McDaniel, along with her touring band.

Earlier in the year, Pomeroy’s cover of “Wall of Death” with Max Rainer of Wilderado appeared in Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters.

Her full-length album Cruel Joke, released May 16th, 2025 via Rounder, was Produced by Dakota McDaniel and Gary Paczosa (John Prine, Alison Krauss, Sierra Ferrell, Katie Pruitt).

A member of the Cherokee Nation, Pomeroy carries her heritage and regional influences with her. She’s already shared stages with artists including Iron & Wine, I’m With Her, and Sierra Ferrell.
