All-female Norwegian Rock band The Cocktail Slippers have released new single “Back Where You Belong” via Wicked Cool Records. Known for their blend of the retro and the modern, the Oslo quintet’s new track is built for the “open road and the stage—two places where they truly belong.”
The band explains:
‘Back Where You Belong’ is an ode to touring! The feeling you get when you hit the road again with new songs to play, the excitement of meeting new people, crowds, and fans. We belong on stage; we love new adventures and playing live shows. Roll down your car window, lean your elbow out and feel the wind in your hair. Here comes the soundtrack of the road as The Cocktail Slippers take you back where you belong.
Recorded at Propeller Studios in Oslo, Norway, and co-produced by Cocktail Slippers, Mike Hartung, and Stevie Van Zandt, the single marks the first taste of the band’s forthcoming sixth studio album. It was mixed by Hartung and mastered by Morgan Nicolaisen.
“Back Where You Belong” follows a high-energy set of appearances for the band and heralds the start of their North American tour. The band will embark on their fifth U.S. tour in two years, joined on select dates by Wicked Cool labelmates Soraia.

As one of the first bands handpicked by Stevie Van Zandt for his Wicked Cool Records roster, Cocktail Slippers have been fixtures in Little Steven’s Underground Garage and the international garage rock scene for nearly two decades.
