British Columbia-based singer/songwriter Luca Fogale has unveiled new single “For.” The song is his fourth with Nettwerk, following “Begin” in April, “Ashes” in June and “Lost Without You” in July.
Fogale shares:
I wrote For throughout the course of a few seasons of my life, so while this is at once a song simply about trying to serve what is most important in this life, the narrator (a version of myself) is grappling with understanding the finiteness of time, while desperately wanting to preserve an imagined perfect future, compelled by all of the tenets in the refrain; those which he believes to be most valuable. ‘For honour. For family.’
This version of myself tries to be tireless, resolute, unbreakable, unknowing that he will fail, as he is only human. I recognize inside myself the desire to strive, to achieve, to provide, and in turn I notice how hard I fall when I lose touch with humility and self-acceptance. The narrator is in a race against time and against vulnerability.

“For” is set to appear on Luca’s next LP, following two JUNO Award-nominated predecessors, Run Where The Light Calls (2023) and Nothing is Lost (2020). The project “grapples with troubling generational patterns, apathy, masculine ideals and social tumult”, but Fogale also holds onto hope.
This Sunday, Fogale kicks off a quick run as direct support for Hollow Coves on the Pacific leg of their North American tour, playing a total of six shows. Across a career spanning over a decade, Luca Fogale has shared stages with the likes of Dermot Kennedy, 7 time JUNO winner Serena Ryder and Frazey Ford.
