German-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer M. Byrd has announced his new album, A Better Place out November 14th, 2025, via Nettwerk. Written across two important chapters of his life, the months before and after fatherhood, the album “soundtracks the most universal experience of all: change.”

To celebrate, he has released new single “Always On My Mind.” The song was written in anticipation of his daughter’s birth.

M. Byrd says about the album:

There are all of these songs before the birth and all of these songs after the birth. I was able to reflect on myself and what was happening. I said, ‘Goodbye’, to a lot of friends in Hamburg and started a new life in Denmark. All of these changes happened, and I was really trying to put them into songs, so I would have them with me forever.

Regarding “Always On My Mind”, M. Byrd adds:

It’s inspired by my daughter and the potential of a human coming to earth. It also speaks to the profound feeling of missing someone. Before this person arrives, you are missing her and longing for her already. There was a lot of anxiety floating around for me as a dad, and the song reflects on it. Through my unborn daughter, I found out so many things about myself I didn’t know before. That led to her being always on my mind.
