The Problem With Kids Today Takes Charge For Third Album ‘Take It!’

Take It! is the upcoming third album to be released by The Problem With Kids Today, the Connecticut-based Rock trio of Tate Brooks, Silas Lourenco-Lang, and Reena Yu. The album was recorded in a shed in Tate’s backyard in Branford, CT with Joe LeMieux producing.

They are releasing Take It! via their In The Shed Records imprint on CD, digital download and streaming services on August 22, 2025. The video and single for I Dunnoare out now, and the track “captures the stress and insecurity” of youth.

The band previously had an eye-opening experience in a large studio as well as their first ever tour, and this time were ready to be more involved in helming the recording of their album. They also decided not to use a fancy studio, to hire their own choice of local Producer, and to put the album out on their own label.

They all lived in one house for 8 days to make the album, and adhered to the rule, “Keep it simple. Keep it fun.”

Take It! draws inspiration from British Rock and a DIY ethos, including bands like The Jam, The Who, and The Replacements.
