Hard Rock band Truss have released their sophomore album, Fluorescence. They are influenced by Alt-Metal, Grunge, and Punk. Their latest single “Numb,” suggests the “emotional intensity” of Fluorescence, a self-Produced collection that dives into themes of “grief, nostalgia, heartbreak, and self-discovery.”

Formed at Ohio State University just before the pandemic, Truss has built a following across the Midwest and beyond. Known for their live performances, the trio has shared stages with acts including Everclear, Anberlin, 10 Years, Big Wreck, and Dead Poet Society.

Cocalist Hannah Crandall says:

Each song was written when I was in a different headspace. HEAVY came out of losing someone close to me. Tell Me Something was about feeling directionless. I hope people can resonate with FLUORESCENCE, if nothing more than to feel a sense of nostalgic comfort that everyone longs for.

Guitarist/bassist Eric Kennedy adds:

We grew up in the 90s and 2000s when bands were really experimenting — pushing boundaries sonically. This record was our way of tracing back to what made us love music in the first place, but through a 2025 lens. The entire project was done DIY — written, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered in our own homes.

Truss will celebrate the release of Fluorescence with a string of summer dates, including a hometown release show at Cleveland’s Grog Shop on June 21, 2025. Other key stops include NXNE Festival in Toronto, Rockin’ on the River, and a performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in August.
