Mae Powell, a Bay Area-based Indie singer/songwriter has released her debut Karma Chief single, “Rope You In,“ off her forthcoming sophomore album. It features an electric 12-string solo, played by Garrett Barley, running through a Leslie speaker. The tune was recorded and produced by David Parry (Alice Phoebe Lou) on Vancouver Island.

Writing this track was “the beginning of a long emotional journey that inevitably resulted in an entire LP.”

Powell says:

I feel grateful for the way writing songs helps me make sense of and process emotions while I’m in the thick of them.

Powell’s debut album, Both Ways Brighter, was released in 2021 and is an homage to love and friendship.
