Hailing from Southern Germany, Rock band Tame The Abyss have returned after a period of silence with their debut album They Live Again! which arrives on November 8th, 2024. The song and video for “This Is Love” is out now.
Founded in March 2020, the trio released their debut EP They Came In The Night! in January 2021, leading them to the “Summer Stage” at Munich’s Olympic Stadium in the same year. After further local gigs, their second EP, They Vanished At Dawn! was released in March 2022, after which the band “involuntarily disappeared from the face of the earth.”
After numerous problems, such as a record deal that fell apart and canceled concerts, the Bavarian Rockers have gathered their strength again and founded their own label, Plastic Fang Records, on which their debut album They Live Again! is now the first official release.
Frontman Georg Raig explains:
Although many of our songs are about overcoming personal hurdles in life and facing new challenges, we don’t take the rocker image as seriously as some other acts, especially during our live gigs. I think that makes the band’s special charm.
They particularly have a penchant for the “trashy B-movie clichés” of early Hollywood icons like Ed Wood or Roger Corman, and bring that to their stage performances.

All songs from They Live Again! were recorded live without many overdubs or post-production tricks after the trio retreated to one of their songwriting sessions in the Bavarian Forest. This included a traditional log cabin setting with cuckoo clocks, deer antlers, and schnapps for breakfast. “
Georg Raig adds:
We love trips to this kitsch idyll and always rent remote hiking cabins at the end of the world where we can really turn up the volume. We clear out all the furniture, set up our equipment in the living room, and write all weekend. Occasionally, curious hikers or neighbors come by and supply us with home-brewed schnapps. I think we are much better attuned today and have also dared more in songwriting.
