Norway-based Kathrine Shepard the artist behind the Ambient, Post-Rock musical project Sylvaine, is releasing new EP, Eg Er Framand, on March 22nd, 2024, via Season of Mist. It is an “introspective journey” through Norwegian tradition and Folk elements. The EP title is taken from a song that translates “I Am a Stranger”.

Folk tales of old are brought to life in this new chapter of her musical journey with haunting results as Shepard returns to her musical roots and reevaluates them for this new experience. Several of the tracks on the EP have been shaped by her live performances in several continents.

Shepard “conjures images of untamed forests, of misty clearings inhabited by mystical beings” on the EP and embarks on some traditional songs as well as original compositions with a medieval feel.
